Gaslight Grimoire: Fantastic Tales of Sherlock Holmes, JR Campbell and Charles Prepolec (ed.), 2008, ISBN 9781894063173
Although Arthur Conan Doyle was a well known occult writer, he had to start keeping Sherlock Holmes, his most famous creation, in reality. Not weaken Doyle, by his popularity Holmes to solve a series of occult and fantastic situations. The book takes care of that.
Watson was seriously injured and have died, while the with the British army in Afghanistan. He was saved by a blue Jinn exacts a price, by Watson for his help. Years later, when solving a case of suicide, what looks like crossbows, Watson, Holmes suddenly stabbed with an arrow. In his death throes, "Holmes" is transformed into the blue djinn who saved Watson's life Previous year.
During the Second World War, is Holmes in a California nursing home. The damage to the morale of the British would be too hard if he should benefit from the Nazis murdered. Holmes helps a local detective to discover how a man can be shot three times, twice in the chest and once in the head and foot. It is the Importation of pine not fifty speakers from Romania, filled with vampires ready to work for the Allies.
Take in other stories, Holmes and Watson with two famous literary occult detectives, Flaxman Low and Thomas Carnacki. Holmes is a realist, no matter how strange and may be occult, it is usually a rational explanation. But he has not entirely dismiss un-rational explanations.
I really enjoyed these stories. They are well made, and they are nice and funny without going crazy. Holmes fans will love this book, and so is fiction fans occultism.
