Where can I get a book or a tape to learn the Philippine langues?
I want to learn to speak in the Philippines speak
The official language of the Philippines is technically known as Filipinos, but most refer to it as Tagalog. I played a lot with Rosetta Stone Tagalog for kicks and laughs, I not recommend it. I do not like the Rosetta Stone, in general, and I think that RS Tagalog is especially bad. RS does not provide much material for Tagalog as it does for most popular languages, as Spanish or French, so you do not learn much, it would not be much in the first place. I think you can not get very alone anyway RS (so it is a waste of money). I believe that Pimsleur does a adequate job in teaching basic concepts such as RS, but offers a more comprehensive course Tagalog, and as one does with the most popular languages. But it's good for the beginning and will be good for the quality of pronunciation. Apart from that I have not found any computing resources to Tagalog that I felt was good. In terms of books, most are pretty awful. The best I have found is beginning Tagalog: A Course in English for Speakers. He is old, but is the most complete of any of the books I've looked. I have yet to find materials for more advanced students Tagalog, not to mention the decent. Unfortunately not only are many materials out there not because it is as popular as many other languages.
