How do I copy an audiobook on my ipod on my ZEN?

Hi, I have on my iPod a load of audiobooks. The thing is my hard drive was destroyed I received a virus. So I thought it would be okay as most of my music was on the iPod. however, it will not allow me to copy audio books on my hard drive or Zen. Is there any way I can recover some of the music and other things off the iPod. PS I want to especially audio books as they were really expensive!
