The terms or expressions in the King James Version Bible.?
I heard the words or expressions in the Bible King James Version is beautiful. Why Why? Since I am not a native English speaker, I do not know why. Can you feel how much of the Old English is beautiful? Could you explain?
VR is a masterful translation of a text corrupt. The more accurate and reliable texts have been found since 1611, including those found in MADASS and Qumran (Dead Sea Scrolls Dead Sea) and translations early in Coptic and Aramaic. The RV is no longer the best English translation available. It is one of the worst in the light of ancient manuscripts now available to us.
What are some translation errors in the King James?
I'm just looking for errors in translation. I'm not looking for errors that occurred because they used the Textus Receptus. There are errors of translation of the Textus Receptus and the Masoretic text. Any error in translation?
>> What are some translation errors in the King James Version? There are many that could be noted (see sources). However, a true student of the Bible not triggered by such errors of translation, because a true student of the Bible just does not look English. Anyway ... The following contains a gross error in translation: Acts 12:4 And when he was arrested, he put in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him after Easter the intention of bringing it to the people. Where you see the word "Easter" is actually not a Greek word in the original manuscripts - is a word Chaldean: "Pascha". This term refers to Easter. Passover and Easter are not the same thing. Day not only are they completely different year (and the term "Easter" and the Easter holidays, in itself, does not even come into existence until more than one hundred years after all the original disciples and apostles had died), but Easter was ordained by God and Easter is a pagan festival named ordained only by man. However, if you compare 24 occurring other uses of Chaldean word in the four Gospels, most 1Cor. 5:7, and Heb. 11:28, the word Chaldean same is correctly translated as "Passover" Matthew 26:2 Ye know that after two days is the feast of Passover and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified. The same applies to the use of the word "hell" in King James. This is another word that did not exist until long after 100 AD The problem here is that its use gives a wrong picture about what Jesus really taught and where he was during his death. In Testement old, this word is a bad translation of "she'ol" - which refers only to the grave. It is only modern (MIS), which adds using more traditional (and not quite Biblical) meaning of this word. In New Testement, this word is a bad translation of "geenna" or "hell" which refers only to the city dump outside of Jerusalem, which was kept burning day and night to keep up with the garbage dumps and waste. This was to be only symbolic Lake of Fire that only comes in doomsday. It was never intended to be a literal reference to a place of eternal torment with the devil in a cave underground. God bless.
What is the difference between the King James Version and English Standard Version of the Bible?
I just started attending a Baptist church and I was gived Englis Standard Version of the Bible, but a lady from church said I should get the King James Version, but I do not see the difference. Please help!
In all honesty, different translations of the Bible can give the reader different meanings for the key verses. It has become a recent trend in many Protestant belief systems (mainly Baptist) that a newly discovered version of the KJV of the Bible is the definitive version of the Bible. If this is the case, however, they are interpreting hardly your Bible for centuries.
