Terry Goodkind

There are many massive series of epic fantasy out there. And many of them are simply great. They introduce us to new worlds and new complex rich. And the experience we have with them can last for years because each series has multiple novels and some are added. Here are the top five.
The Shannara series by Terry Brooks - There are currently twenty books in the Shannara series and they are roughly divided into trilogies. It all started in 1977 with the publication of first book The Sword of Shannara. This series of books is often presented as the legitimate heir Lord of the Rings. I agree:) I read the book when it first came out and fell in love with the series. The books take place in Shannara but cover a lot of time and many different characters. If you are planning an adventure in Shannara you should start with the first book in the first trilogy The Sword of Shannara. The second book is The Elfstones of Shannara, which is being transformed into a major film. The third book in the trilogy, The Enchantment of Shannara.
The wheel series by Robert Jordan - This is a series of books that currently number eleven. The twelfth and final book is scheduled for fall 2009 and Robert Jordan passed away while working on it, but he had great talks and work with Brandon Sanderson who will complete it for him. It is a beautiful series of books is great! The number of pages in each book can go anywhere where from 700 to 1100 pages. Personally, I devoured the first five books of the series one after another. After reading the first When I ordered the second and so on throughout the first five. Well written and very complex. Beau orders, but received some criticism designed to keep you hooked all the time (and for its massive number of pages). I would say that this series is a bit more serious than the Shannara series. The first book is Wheel of Time and The second book is a great fighter.

The Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind - The first book in this series is Wizards First Rule. I read the first three books in this series and much enjoyed. I'll do to the other end. The first book itself is just phenomenal. It is released in 1994 and acclaimed by critics. You may want to get the package first three novels. You'll burn through the first fast enough. The Sword of Truth Books 1-3: Wizards First Rule, Blood of the Fold, Stone of Tears are all designed by a master hand books.
The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant The Unbeliever - There are currently eight books in this series and the first book is underway into a major motion picture. - Of all the series I read this is my absolute favorite. I read all the Series twice. This world stands apart from others by a couple of reasons. It is true a great job with all the usual things like magic, magicians, major battles and know yourself. But it is also very strongly balanced by an unusual main character - Covenant. He is a leper and a bit of an anti-hero. During part of the story he does not believe this is happening and it will not be the hero. There is a strong internal conflict in him and he's fine with the external conflict. Bane's first book Lord Foul's was published in 1977 The latest book in the series is Fatal Revenant and it was released in October 2007 is therefore a continuing series of Nice with another book coming.
A Song of Ice and Fire series by George RR Martin - This is a series of four books and now the first book A Game of Thrones was published in 1996. There are three additional books planned for the series and new prequel several years. The fifth book in the series (A Dance With Dragons) is scheduled to be published in September 2008. This series of books is more contemporary than the other series she began in 1996 and it tends to have much more flavor to medieval Europe. From political intrigue and maneuvering among various factions play a big role in history.
There are a lot of great epic fantasy sagas that span many pages and several volumes. If you want to stick with something that is tried and true, then all of these five would make an excellent choice. Whatever one you choose, you in for many hours of wonderful adventures in imaginary worlds strange and new.
