John Sandford

A gang of hard-core predators, a revenge-minded pimp and a crazy loner with a gun are just three of the dangers of dogging, an experienced police officer in Minneapolis Wicked Prey, John Sandford latest in the series with an anti-hero, Lucas Davenport.

The Republicans, with their big convention in St. Paul, and Davenport is on safety considered. Political conventions money means, Lucas reasons, and money continues to attract bad guys. His veteran cop instincts rarely draw him wrong, and he has a bad feeling there.

Davenport is right, of course. Brutus Cohn is a criminal career, a high-end thieves and kidnappers in search of one last big score on which to retire. His team's findings on a number of streets for money men in the city, which will lubricate the cash assistance payments so that the wheels of the presidential campaign. Suggest is the perfect crime, because they carry large amounts of cash and, because of what they are doing is illegal, she can not get on well with the police.

Randy Whitcomb is a paraplegic ex-con, a pimp, whose last run-in with Davenport led to the shooting, The Whitcomb put in a wheelchair. Lucas did not press the trigger himself, but Whitcomb nor the fault of the policeman, and is looking for a little PAYBACK. If he only received Davenport's hands at 14-year-old adopted daughter, Whitcomb could even things ...

Justice Shafer is a loner with a history of right-wing. He also has a .50 caliber rifle, and waits for the command to fire.

John Sandford (the pseudonym of Pulitzer Prize excellent journalist John Camp) is particularly adept at developing compelling characters on both sides of the law. The good are not always so good and the bad guys are not always so bad. This is the case with Davenport The usually comes at the right side of things, but has some concerns, as he will get there. If a witness has as bait, or when using certain rules in order to circumvent can be, so be it.

Wicked In Prey, Lucas found similar traits in Letty West, the 14-year-old he took to his house after she lost her mother in Naked Prey. Despite anger Lucas' stubborn streaks at Letty's, and he tends to turn out kind of massage events, so that they in their favor, he knows where they This acquired traits, and secretly approved.

While previous Prey novels have been severe, including measures (such as Lucas gets older and gains seniority, He is on the streets less), Sandford yet know how to build suspense. The tension snowballs as Randy gets closer to exacting revenge, his last start Cohn Shafer, and large predators lurking on the periphery of the Republican convention, ready to make a statement with his rifle. Letty And what the hell is up at all?

All of these elements, plus the usual snappy dialogue, make a pleasant addition to Wicked Prey Sandford Lucas Davenport's 18 previous novels.
