James Patterson was born March 22, 1947 in Newburg, New York. He was one of three children born to his father Charles Patterson, an insurance broker, and his mother Isabel Patterson, teacher and housewife. James studied English and received a bachelor's degree at Manhattan College in 1969 and a master's degree in English Vanderbilt College in 1970.
James took a job in advertising company J. Walter Thompson, a younger copy editor. Worked up its chairman. While working full-time began to write manuscripts.
His first book, "The Thomas Berryman Number "was published in 1976, when rejected by 31 publishers and won Edgar Award, the most prestigious award in the mystery genre. James kept working advertising in the company until 1996 when he began to write full time.
James Patterson's novel, "Along Came a Spider", was published in 1992. This novel, a bestseller, was the first of his Alex Cross series was in the movie starring Morgan Freeman.

James spends his winters in Palm Beach, Florida and the summers in New York with his wife Susan and their son Jack. Susan was a four-time All American swimmer and still swims two times a day. James is an avid golfer and likes round or two friends in their spare time.

I am a big fan of James Patterson and Maximum Ride series like you know if there will be a 5th or the last 4? thanks I hope it does to others.
I love Maximum Ride series too:) There will be no 5th book. Said in an interview, the plans in writing, 12 or 13 books.
