Bed of Roses is the second book in Nora Roberts series Quartet bride. However, you can not read the first book, Vision in White, can read the second book with missing out a step. This is a solid book with well developed characters and always buy every book Nora Roberts writes'm not writing check it for you. If however, you are a romance reader, or just a reader looking for a book to read, probably will check for you. Liked the book. I'm glad I read it? Yes. I would read it again? Do not think so. And right you know, re-reading a book is the 'gold standard' for each book I read. That's all me - I pass on information about you.

Nora Roberts can write. That is so not in dispute. He has legions of fans for a good cause. I am a fan? You betcha! I buy all his books? Pretty much. Am I biased? Less. Unlike the change itself, JD Robb writes that the In Death series, (which would crack cocaine to me, I do not get enough rush and buy all new books and re-read the every single one) the books he writes under the Nora Roberts I always read a case by case, or book by book basis. I know, strange huh? But let's just say I more than a coca cola Gal after Gal a diet coke and leave it at that. So now you now where I come from from and you can read my review a bit more enlightened.

For my Nora Roberts' books always, and I will always mean (equivocation not), is fully developed characters that you want to sit at dinner. Although his paranormal trilogies with characters you want as your best friends. He is a class many goals and some get to the fleshing out and developing characters and writing dialogue. Bed of Roses is no exception. This quartet of books features four different women, best friends, Parker, Laurel, Emma and Mac, which own and run a 'premier wedding called Vows planning company. Each woman is responsible for a different business aspects. All four women are the ones who want to get to know. Ms. Roberts is in his best here in about trends, tone and timbre of four women. You want to be them, see a piece of yourself on them, or want to help them.

The same holds true for men in this series. Not want that to them (unless of course you, for me thinking of most of my readers are women - but not wrong), but you will certainly want to get to know them. As per usual, Ms. Roberts was wonderful writing of his male characters. He gets it right every time. She's one of the best and I love his book for that alone; His ability to write 'male voice'.

Bed of Roses already focus on Emma Grant, a talented florist responsible for particular aspects of Vows. He loves his job and making a few dreams come true when it comes to their wedding and all the confusion that surrounds it gives her joy. Emma is beautiful, smart, funny, and dates - a lot. Jack Cooke, an architect, is friends with Emma and the woman of Vows for many years. So yes, it is a "friend of lovers" romance, certainly one of my favorite events. Basically the book is about Emma and Jack and how they start to see each other light, act their feelings, and then meet the consequences. Being lovers after being friends for a long time is not an easy feat; especially when there other friends involved. The particular dynamic lovers are invariably changes the dynamic for the whole group, and of course how to break up there is the question of who gets care of friends.

Vision in both the White and Bed of Roses, Roberts takes great care to give us a glimpse the wedding planning business as seen through the eyes of four friends. The anecdotes and introduces characters around him are happy. The way every woman deal with aspects of its business is released loving detail. The relationship between women is crafted with other well written dialog. And ... however, the tension that I so long for is a bit lacking here. Bed of Roses is a sweet romance with strong characters and a simple structure. After all my whining about how much The angst I reading in my book lately think I want to be happy with a plot that runs true to course. A plot where there is less angst but instead some normal and repeatable internal struggles. Truth be told, I should be happy. I've enjoyed reading this one and I am going to read the next book in the series (should I know what happens in Laurel). Perhaps the understated beauty of this series. It will not hit you right between the eyes of the sledgehammer, but rather gently warms your heart.

So dear readers, if you like a 'friend of lovers' romance, with strong conversation, fully developed and relatable characters and want it simple and sweet, may I suggest Bed of Roses.
