For anyone against him in the belief that writing and wealth are mutually exclusive activities, I recommend a biography of Mark economic developer Twain.
Written by Peter Krass, "Ignorance, trust and Filthy Rich Friends: The Business Adventures of Mark Twain, Chronic Speculator and Entrepreneur" includes the exploits of a high roller, who also happened to make an indelible contribution to world literature.
Publishers Weekly Twain admitted that he has never been recognized outside the pages of the biographer of his economic achievements:
"Mark Twain, humorist, novelist, and the guru of business? The latter label may be a surprise, but the preeminent American writer most of his life in pursuit of wealth as a sea captain, a form of silver, an owner of a newspaper, an investor and an inventor.
Clemens was not at all the author retiring type, content to sit back passively while its intellectual property destroyed. Characteristic of the scribes more suffering, then or now, Twain suing their publishers, mites greedy which forces them to realize their promises.
It is refreshing to see that Samuel Clemens did not rapidly transfer their shares and trade, what the authors of Internet Many feel they must do today. For his pseudonym, Mark Twain, Clemons sent a rich premium in the lecture circuit, too.
It must be remembered that long before the solvent was literary superstars like Stephen King and John Le Carré, there were others who made a good read and good money, too.
Who said the life of a writer must be one of relentless hardship?
If Mr. Clemens were alive today, his advice might be: write well, and prosper!
Mark Twain?
Ok, so I need 5 Characteristics of Mark Twain. I determined, humorous?, Witty. but thats about it. and I need to represent the characteristics of a symbol. im similar determination by a steamboat. if Please help.
I might add philosophical. You realize that he has survived his entire family, except for one girl. In his autobiography, there is a story to his daughter Jean, German shepherd who is probably one of the most moving pieces I've seen in American Literature. I would also add that you might call liberal. He is hostile to what he called imperialist tactics in the Philippines. You can also call him a pacifist. I enclose a copy of the prayer "war", taken from another work, the text of the prayer is in red.
